Default C2 Vent Window Adjustment

My vent window is about an inch off of the gasket at the top of the door. Is the one screw at the bottom with the slot the only adjustment and what other screws do I loosen before before adjusting. Will this also change the adjustment of the outer window track?

Got a picture??

The bolt in the very bottom allows the bottom of the vent to move either in or out(clockwise in and counter clockwise out). The door glass needs this adjustment the most to be able to roll up and down smooth because......

......there are 2 bolts and a stud at the top, they will allow you to move it fore and aft and in and out. The stud will move the top of the vent in and out so as to align it up with the stainless moulding and weatherstrip on the windshield frame.

That one screw at the bottom adjusts front to back "top" in your case. It also adjust it in/out at the top. there is a lock nut there that should be loosened/tightened after your done.
Make sure the upper screws/bolts at the vent are loosened before you start.
Do the adjustment with the door closed.
In my case it took me awhile because once I get one adjustment the other one was out.

good luck

The adjustment at the very bottom was rusted together and frozen. I liked to never got it out but have since cleaned it up and chased the threads so I can reuse. My 64 does not have two bolts at the top and a stud. It has 3 bolts with those weird looking washers.

I will play with it again tomorrow with the door closed as try to get the vent edge to line up with the stainless steel of the windshield.

Thanks!

I have the bottom adjustment bolt at maxium extension and the top of the vent frame now barely touches the gasket. Before there was a least a 1/4 inch gap at the top from the gasket. The bottom of the vent frame compresses the gasket very tight. The door gaps look close so I don't know if adding a shim would help or not. I did find a door shim that the painter did not reinstall but I don't know where it came from. Like I said the door gaps look pretty good. I guess I will leave it as is but I think if I get caught in another rain storm I will get wet again.

Did you get the gap at the bottom set "close" before you tried to get the top set?
do you have the assembly manual?
If not here you go this is from mine for a 66 vert they should be the same or close to it.

The directions helped and I finally closed the gap at the top of the vent window. One thing that puzzled me was that my 64 has three part 3 bolts whereas your drawing shows two part 3 bolts and a part 10 stud. So I don't know if they were really different or someone replaced the stud with a bolt. Doesn't matter I got it to work. Thanks Again!
