Can anybody tell me, why the day ID (22) is upside down? Thanks, Al

Foundry service worker mistake inserting the marker in the pattern upside-down; not at all unusual.

You gotta keep in mind that these workers were union hourly wage earners, and they could care less about why 50yrs later you were concerned about placement/positioning of date codes.

Default time period for each casting IDs

John & Tom - helpful es ever - thanks! Yes, I did guess in that direction.

One more question: I found an array in the NCRS judging manual, listing the T-10 casting IDs for 58-60. But they just refer roughly to 1958, 1959 or 1960.

No details telling in what time period a part with each particular casting code was produced and therefore what configurations are possible for a particular model year / VIN. Also, what is the approximately time window between manufacturing of the transmission parts and the VIN?

I just heard occasionally, that main case T10-1B would have been produced from Jun-59 to Jan-61. So how's about the others? What time window for the T10-1 main case code? What for the T10-7 / T10-7A / T10-7B tail housings?

Any publications about that? Would appreciate any information!

P.S. ....beeing from Germany, I had to google for 'Joe the Plumber'. Forgive me, if I'm not so familiar with your local party affairs and mind - we got 'Queen Angela'

You won't find much detail on the T-10 in the NCRS judging guide, as the transmission "numbers" aren't judged in Flight Judging - only the appearance and configuration that can be seen lying on your back on the ground.

Alan Colvin's "Corvette By The Numbers" book is probably the best reference for transmission details.
