Default need help!

Can anyone help me find a link to down load a 1961 corvette owners manual. I was working on the car lastnight and I took off the bottom air filter pan, it seems like i'm missing a hose that connects to the bottom of the filter pan. Any help?

Thanks,
Tuan

Reproduction owners manuals are avaiable on Ebay most always.Key in "1961 Corvette". They usually run about $10. I'm not sure the info you need will be found in the manual tho. Exactly what hole are you referring to?

I took off the filter to relpace it and when i took off the bottom pan that the filter sits on i notice that there is a hole in the pan and it looks like a hose need to be in its place

I started to check under the hood cause only when i"m driving i can smell the gas, I'm sure there is no leak cause when the car is park in the garage there is no smell of gas but only when i'm driving. the car was runnimg too rich so i set it back to factory thinking that would help. it did a little bit.

On my '62 there is no hole in the bottom of the pan for a hose, and I believe that the '61 is the same?
What engine and carb do you have? Could you post a picture of the pan?
On my stock 300HP with AFB carb, there are two hoses, one goes into a fitting on the pass side of the carb, and the other is the vac line that attaches to the hllow carb bolt on the back.

I'm all new to this but I'll try to take some pictures when I get home. My main concern is the gas smell when i"m driving. its not a leak so my guess is that its coming from the carb or the smell is coming out of the air filter bottom pan cause of the hole.

Are you sure you don't have an aftermarket air filter base? Most of them have a knock-out for a breather hose.
I believe that Corvettes didn't start using a hose in the filter base until 63.
