Default Setting the clock problem

I have a quartz conversion and it keeps perfect time. The problem is that I have a hard time setting it. If feels like the gears are striped as when I pull and turn the adjusting **** it moves the hands a little and then slips. The question is, is this something I can fix if I take it apart? Has anyone had a similar problem? Are the gears available? Does anyone have a drawing on how this works?

Did you do the conversion yourself? If so and you remember all the parts, the movement ( guts) probably isn't snugged up enough to the dial plate assembly. The dial plate is the plate that the actual face is held onto with the set **** and the hands. Reapply pressure to the dial plate nuts with a nut driver or socket to close the gap. Unfortunately you'll have to take out the clock to do this. Hope this helps.
