I came over this picture when searching the net.
I have never seen this car or heard of it before
Anybody know the story of why this car was made?

Chevrolet Engineering Research Vehicle (CERV) I

During the 1980's CERV I and CERV II were owned by a Houston corvette restorer, K.D. James, and I had the opportunity to visit the cars on his showroom in Houston.

Not under Frederic Donner's watch. AMA ban was in full swing. No way, no how.

The engine was far too big for Indy or F1. Zora had the CERVs built to experiment on the test track with IRS and mid-engine concepts. CERV II helped perfect some of Jim Hall's Chaparral engineering.
I saw CERV I when it was in the Cunningham Museum in Costa Mesa. Along with one of the six Bugatti Royales and the ONLY four cylinder Jaguar XK engine prototype.
