Looking for suggestions on how to save threads that interest me or that I might use for future projects. I always find info on the forum that I may need later, and then have to search for them when the time comes. Thanks in advanced.

Click on "thread tools" at the top right of each thread. A drop down opens up, and then you can click on "subscribe to this thread".

You can then access subscribed threads from the quick links tab on the bar above the threads just below your welcome box.

I just bookmark them (or mark as Favorites if you are an Internet Explorer user) and file my bookmarks (favorites) in a folder organized by the car to which they apply

1. Make a new Folder called "Reference Info From CF"
2. Then create a "Word" document for each topic you want to keep track of and place in the Reference Folder. Example: gas related, rear end related, distributor related, trailing arm related etc.
3. As you read CF, highlight what you want to save and use the copy function and paste it into the appropriate Word Doc. Make new Word Doc topics as you need.

Saving to your computer's hard drive is probably better. You can also save your info to a disk, email it etc. You can copy and paste only the info you want to keep also and eliminate the BS stuff. If you use the Bookmark function, you might not be able to access that data sometime. It is possible to be away from home and not have internet services, or the CF is down...or maybe "gone" for good! Don't rely on others if you don't have too.

Two ways to "save" threads:

1. Bookmark them, as already pointed out. Simple, and you don't chew up space on your computer's disk drive. However, if CF ever ceases to exist, the info will be lost.

2. Save the entire thread on your computer. In Firefox, Netscape, Mozilla and maybe other browsers on Windoze machines do this by going to the pull down menu:

File | Save Page As

When the file save window appears, choose a location and, optionally, a descriptive file name.

This second way of preserving a thread will save everything..... user names who posted, images, text, etc. When you bring up one of these saved pages, it will look just like it did when you saw it on the internet.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll play around with this info and see what's best for me.
