Welcome to the CF. Ask all the question you want, someone will have some kind of experience relative to your question.
Can you get the number that is located at the back of the block behind one of the heads. It will be the casting number and will help get us started. Dennis

The HC shows it as either a 1965 327 or a 1969 350.

Like Bluestripe said, get the numbers off of the drivers side block behind the head back where the tranny housing is. The casting date will be located roughly in the same place on the passenger side. Post what you find.

8Y104494 T0807HC

T = Tonowanda, NY engine plant
0807 = Aug 7 engine assembly date
HC = 327, 275 hp, powerglide (I think)

8 = 1968
Y = Wilimington, DE assembly plant
104494 = VIN derivative

Not sure what body types Wilmington plant made in 1968

Thanks to all for your help.what i found today,on the block is also letters GM and 3914660.

on main bearings CLEVITE77 373001 LOWER MB2650P
rod baering CLEVITE77 CB 745P 2770

As i understand,that the engine isn't corrects for this car,but i hope to restore it like new so i need to find out which kind of this engine,and to try to order repair kit for this engine.As i said earlier,that engine condition is quite good.

And one more question-what your thoughts,is it ok if i put this engine on my 56 vette?I would like to restore this vette not for concourse,not for selling,but just for fun,and hobby.Just will try to restore as much as i can with old parts (will not go mad if starter or alternator will be not 56 or 57).

Your casting number (3914660) seems to confirm that it is a 1968 327 engine, apparently from an Impala or Caprice of that year.
