i recently restored my 65 convertible and after installing the radio tried the antenna switch. the up goes down and the down goes up. what could cause that if all connectors are "one way" and have not been disassembled? thanks in advance, tom
Maybe you hooked the battery up backwards? Just kidding!!
Is this the original switch or a replacement? What about the antenna end of the harness? Can that be reversed? That's a legit question, I've never paid attention to my antenna.....it's never worked and I don't really care.
its been a couple of months since i hooked up the antenna but as i recall the plug connector is "one way" that is, the leads are in a "t" formation. to get to it i would need to remove the spare tire tub and the muffler
This was the case with my 65. When I first got the car the switch worked "backwards". Then I realized that the switch had been installed upside down. I removed the mounting screws, rotated 180 and remounted.
Have you replaced the antenna with a new one? The 66 coupe I owned and replaced the antenna on was wired wrong. It was a reproduction antenna from a well known vendor.
