Try figure 17 on page 1-10 in the 1963 Corvette Shop Manual, and UPC 1, Sheet B13.00 in the 1963 Corvette Assembly Manual.

Set your lower mldg. on where you want it to be. Then place the clips so that they will hold the mldg. where it needs to be. Drill holes and use the correct screws. Very simple. Use alittle dum dum around each screw.

I replaced my 63 roadster windshield weatherstrip over a year ago. I took pictures but they were unuseable. I bought the car in 1975 and I believe I was the first to pull the winshield to replace the weatherstrip. The lower 63 moulding is a one year only piece and requires 13 clips ; 4 wide and 9 thin. The thick and thin refer to where they are placed on the pinch welded frame, the corners being thicker because of the side birdcage overlapping the center bird cage and welded forming the windshield frame. When I took my windshield out I had more than the 9 thin clips. Remember, an original 63 roadster lower moulding attatches with clips that clip over the pinch welded frame under the weatherstrip.
The 4 thick clips... 2 secure the ends of the lower center moulding the other 2 secure the ends of the side mouldings, the side mouldings overlap the center. These are all female clips. The male side IS the profile of the lower moulding. The 63 side moulding has a male clip that slides into the moulding then grabs the female clip on the pinchwelded frame. These are made of unobtainum. Since 63-67 side mouldings are the same part, only the retention on the 63 is different. You can use a 64-67 side moulding male clip but you must use a 64-67 side moulding female clip that SCREWS into the pinch welded frame outside of the weatherstrip. Some forum members recomend installing the lower moulding before installing the windshield, not sure if it will work on the 63. I found the drawings in the AIM to be unclear. Study carefully. Clear as mud, right? Questions?
