I have an all stock 63 fuelie. I have an unusual issue with the ammeter read out......every other start, the needle reads 180 degrees from north, Without fail....Charging is fine, its just irritating to look at...Any Suggestions?

Pretty common for 63s. The gauge needs a little dampening to keep the needle from flopping over.

The meter needs to be removed and then any of the instrument restorers can redampen it for you.

While I've not seen it done on Corvettes, I would bet that if you put a somewhat large non-polarized capacitor across the gauge in parallel, it would act as a dampener and "absorb" the initial hit of voltage that is flipping your gauge over.
