engine code
Hi all,I'm not usually on the C2 forum, but have a question for here. A friend just took an engine as partial payment for a car he sold, and we're wondering if we ended up with something worthwhile.
Block # 3782870
Date D 13 4
Heads 3890462 (no date code established yet)
I haven't seen the engine yet, but my friend says the boss where the codes should be is blank. Perhaps this block was decked, or was this before CE codes were being used on replacement blocks? I was hoping for an RX code...
There is a 304H stamped on the end of the cam, and as I recall this denoted a "special high performance" usage, but my Chevy parts guy days are far behind me.
Anyway, value guesses? Motor is complete less carb and intake.
