I need some help deciding which new Hurst shifter is best for my 58 T-10 4 speed. The old comp plus is just getting cranky and rather than mess about with it, I would just as soon buy a new shifter and the appropriate kit. Im open to suggestions from anyone especially anyone who has just installed one . Thanks
Back in the 60s I remember that George Hurst guaranteed his shifters for life. Mr Gasket now owns Hurst and perhaps might honor the warranty. I know they will restore shifters that are manufactured by them for a price. I'm still using an early 60s vintage Comp + in my 62 and it still shifts as well as the day I bought it.
the new hurst shifters are made overseas. they are not as good. i tried putting the steel bushings kit on one. the rod ends are so out of round that the bushings would not go on.
