I put several 69-73 tilt/tele in some c2's and although they would not suit a purist for originality they did work well for big guys. If anyone wants a picture email me direct at:
cwcgec@comcast.com and i will send you the pictures of the column in my car.

As far as value of a factory tele column it is whatever the market will bear. Could be a $2000.00 column, could be a $150.00 column. Just depends on the day and what people are willing to pay. Just like anything else.

This past weekend at Carlisle they were worth $1500. That's what I paid for a complete (brackets, nuts & bolts and rag joint) restored column Saturday afternoon. This is more than I wanted to pay but really a pretty good deal considering what the market has been. This the last option I wanted for my '66 (327/350, factory AC, P/W, P/S, P/B, Teak Wheel, Sidepipes, Knock Offs, Emergency Flasher, Tinted Windows).

Where'd you find that?? I looked all over Carlisle on Friday and couldn't find one.

Is the tele rag joint required to make the column work, or is it just for NCRS? If I can use my existing rag joint that will save me a few bucks.

Earlier someone mentioned the guy that advertises restored N36 columns in Driveline. I've seen the ad in the past, but I just looked through my latest Driveline and didn't see it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

What happened to N36 Restorations? Web sites gone, phone disconnected. Anybody know who bought his inventory?

It figures, now that I've decided to get one I can't find any reasonably priced ones. There's one on the Bay, but he wants $2250 (ouch!)

Thanks,
Rick L.

It was on row B near gate 2. From the look of the rag joint you need it to make it work, it's way shorter than the standard part, maybe 1 to 1 1/2 inch. I've been looking for over a year and this is first one I've seen under $2K that was in good shape and complete.

Good luck on your search.

Congratulations on your find and if you are satisfied with what you paid that is all that matters. I'm happy for you.

Rick,
If you have no preference over 100% original parts, you may want to look over George's (Black_Magic) link and his install of a Flaming River Tilt column:

Rebuild it - probably only needs upper and lower bearings; not a hard job.
