66 Convertible big block. Loaded car on trailer for new top installation.
Noticed once on trailer that there was a puddle under driver side front tire.
Thinking I had blown a brake line? However, today I took front tire off
thinking I could find the problem. Brake line appears OK. Had my son
pump brakes while under car. No leaking brake fluid at all? Open master cylinder and it's about 3/4 full! Car has been sitting for about 2 weeks since first noticed problem.....no fluid on garage floor at all.
I also thought that maybe loading on trailer at an incline fluid spilled out of master cylinder.......again no evidence of spilled fluid down side of MC.
Any suggestions short of having a brake shop look at the problem?
Go easy on me I am a rookie at this. Thanks
Check the caliper....the seals could be going out where the two halves are put together..
jack
...happens sometime after a long sit with no brake action...best to pump them up occasionally, should be stains on the back side of the rim and tire for an in board a caliper leak .....
OK guys here is a follow up question. Drove car around block, came back
and found another puddle of brake fluid under the left front tire..
This time I found fluid on the inside of the tire?
Am I looking at a faulty caliper or possible blown brake line??
Help please!!!!!

Brake fluid leak
It's more than likely a leaking caliper. Are the calipers S/S sleeved ??? If not, at least replacing that one is in order. Most auto parts houses have S/S sleeved calipers available, and they usually come with a lifetime warranty. I put 4 of them on my car in 1989, and haven't had a problem since.
