Default dumb question

My C2 has a NOM 350 with a lot of the original parts, heads Carter AFB etc. It has an after market Edlebrock manifold and chrome valve covers. There is a line with a PVC valve plugged into one of the valve covers. Seems as if the original owner is trying to run modern technology with some original parts. I want to remove the valve covers and put original covers on and just plug a screw into the manifold where the pvc line is run to the valve cover. Any thoughts?

You cannot do that.
Your engine needs to breath.
Keep it as is.

If I want to replace the valve covers, what should I do then?

you still need a pcv valve, no matter what you do with the 350.
where do you fill the engine with oil?

Currently, the valve covers have a filler on them, which I have a vented oil cap on. There is also a filler tube that comes out of the front of the intake which I have capped. The engine block is a 1969.

Do a search on "pcv." This subject has been extensively discussed. Many people will tell you what to do. But you need to understand the issue and satisfy yourself.

Buy the correct oil filler that has pcv connection on it, make the connection at this point and keep the hose going to the base of the carb.
Then you can put on some vet valve covers or what ever you want.

Corvette Central has the ones you need.
Part#'s 302114,302107 or 302105

Other venders as well.
