What is the proper compound for the housing lubricating cavity under point plate?? 64 327 300hp
I stuff the cavity full of strips of gauze bandage and then soak the gauze with motor oil; that's the only lubrication the upper bushing will ever see - only the lower bushing sees engine oil. Use motor oil on the felt washer below the breaker plate too - that's the only lubrication the breaker plate pivot will ever see.

I was in contact with Lars a little while back and he recommends to fill the cavity with wheel bearing grease and make sure when you push the plastic seal down on top the grease oozes through the lube hole inside the bushing.
