Odometer not working
Small problem...my speedo needle was jumpy and the cable was noisy so I decided to change out the cable. Did so...connection to the tranny was brutal as my hands are just too big to get up in there from underneath...anyway, made the connections...now the odometer isn't working!?
Any help? bad connection? cable ends not seated right? The speedo is working!

Thanks!
Mark

The problem is not so much the taking out of the cluster, fixing and re-installing but more so you need to remove the cluster...then figure out what the problem is...If it's simply a mis-aligned gear then you may be able to fix and re-install that same day. However, you're likely to find that the gear is stripped (as well as others) so then you have to order a part(s). This may take several days to receive your part before you have a chance to re-install everything, so the process can easily turn into a couple of weeks from start to finish.
I went through this awhile back but I was in the middle of doing some restoration work during the winter so wasn't driving anyway therefore time wasn't really an issue. However, recently, my trip meter has crapped out again. Probably another stripped gear...since my speedo works fine and given what I now know about the process of removing the cluster, trouble shooting, ordering a part and re-installing...I decided I can live with a malfunctioning trip meter
