1955 Corvette was

The year GM dealers offered other then the original hub caps are the SS wire hub cap that were held on using three lug nuts, and at the same time they offered wire wheels (called Motor wheels ) from KH. As seen year in 1955 a add from Union oil ,(hard to see but it has wire wheels installed.) same as mine!

1. What year did hub caps change from one year to another year and wheels?
2. What year were different hub caps and wheels offered by GM ?

My best guess...

53-54: hubcaps only
55: hubcaps & wirewheels
56-58: 15x5 wheels w/solid hubcaps and 15x5.5" wheels w/dogdish caps
59-62: 15x5 wheels w/slotted hubcaps and 15x5.5" wheels w/dogdish caps
63: 15x5.5" wheels w/6 slot hubcaps & 15x6 natural AL knock-offs
64: 15x5.5" wheels w/9 slot hubcaps & 15x6 natural AL knock-offs
65: 15x5.5" wheels w/6 spoke hubcaps & 15x6 black background knockoffs with chrome cones
66: 15x5.5" wheels w/5 spoke hubcaps & 15x6 black background knockoffs with brushed cones
67: 15x6 ralley wheels with small caps & bolt-ons with starburst centers
68: 15x7 ralley wheels with derby caps & PO2 wheel covers
69-72: 15x8 ralley wheels with derby caps & PO2 wheel covers
