Default Headlight warning switch

I was about to install new headlight warning switches and it seems a previous mech/owner removed or cut the wiring from the headlight harness. I have the aim and the service manual. But it's still unclear what color wires and what sequence the switches connect to in the headlight harness?

The switches are wired in parallel so that both have to be made to turn dash light off; each switch gets a black and a gy/black wire. The blacks are the common ground; the gy/black wire is the wire that goes back to the tell-tale lamp on the dash. You could see this on the electrical diagram in the shop manual under the engine compartment wiring. The wires can attach to either side of the switches.
