Has anyone purchased the rotors on ebay that are drilled/slotted include pads for $169.99? Seems like a decent price just wondering how the OA quality and satifaction was. I believe the company name was Brake Motive. Thanks.
IMHO drilled and slotted rotors are unnecessary, less sound structurally and shave lots of dust off your pads. Stick with plain ones unless you routinely heat your rotors to glowing.
Huh...never thought of that. Makes sense. I don't put many miles on the car..actually 0 since 1991 so the brakes needed a complete overhaul. Thanks for the advice. The plain may be the way to go.

Why do you want to replace the rotors? Do they measure below the minimum thickness? Stock rotors used with OEM organic pads routinely last over 100,000 miles. Replacing rotors frequently opens up a Pandora's box of other problems related to excessive lateral runout.
my rotors are right on the borderline and I have been looking into replacements. Be careful as there are many substandard rotors out there. 99% of rotors no matter which brand you are looking at are not made in the USA. What you have to look for is the companies specs and warranty. One company that I have looked at is Centric, they have their blanks made to their specs, then machine them here in the US themselves, to tight tolerances. I would not get drilled rotors but might get the slotted only, just my preference. Good luck on your search. Buy them from a company with good references...

That's good, but really doesn't mean much for the actual installation, especially for the rears. The flange on the rear spindles was NOT machined to tight tolerances; the rear rotors were riveted to the spindle flanges first, then that assembly was mounted on the spindle machining centers and the rotor friction surfaces were then finish-machined.
When you then drill out the rivets and remove an original rear rotor and replace it, its lateral runout will be no better than the original tolerance on the spindle flange, and the runout will almost always be worse than the original spec. Don't replace them unless they really need it.
I recently bought a set from them for the front of my '99 Durango. I got the vented/drilled/slotted ones with ceramic pads. I am VERY happy with the product! They are "hat" rotors in that application, so no bearings to deal with; a very easy installation. Also, the ceramic pads bite nicely and seem to produce zero squeal or brake dust. The cost -
only $110.00 for the set!
