I know that this should be a very simple process. However, I could not get both of the deck lid bolts engauged. Both of the moldings where the bolts are inserted have the wide opening on the outside. Is it possible that someone installed them wrong? I had two neighbors helping me and I stll couldn't get it. I ended up using only one of the bolts. Funny thing is, back in the early 70's, I used to do it by myself.

It's possible your hardtop was stored incorrectly over the years and has become mis-shapen.

The top fits fine. It's just impossible to slide both of the deck lid bolts into the molding.Using only one bolt, the bolt fit in the molding and slid easily into place I feel that the molding should have both wide holes on the same side of the molding. One outside, one inside.
