Default She is in primer!

Body man sent a few images for Project 396.

Question:
Note 3 holes for fender badge. (Was a 427 badge)
Is the 396 badge 2 holes? Or the same as 427 badge?

Looks good from the pictures. However, i have to ask why he was so lazy as to not mask off the fuel cap, fuel filler neck grommet, and the rear underside of the car? I get so mad when painters paint wiring, spare tire tub, etc. It only takes a few minutes to mask things off.

It takes more time to clean and retape the wires.

I was thinking the fuel filler cap would be body color?

The wires I have to redo as we are going from 6 to 4 tail lights.

Looks nice. However, IIRC, you said you were not doing a body off. Looks like frame and other pieces were sprayed with primer making more (not fun or easy) work later.

The body was painted before the body drop. The gas cap wouldn't have gotten painted.

As the "396" and "427" badges look the same except for the numbers, I'd imagine the "396" badge had 3 holes also.

the fuel cap is cadmium plated. and IMHO your painter is causing you a lot more work then what would have been needed.

The 396 Badge needs three holes.

Well at least the seams are perfect and the body ridges all line up.
And the flat panels like doors don't have waves anymore.

OMG. You ruined the car. It's not supposed to be perfect. The gaps are supposed to be unequal with wavy panels that don't have any paint on the bottom portions of them. That's how they came from the factory.
I'm kidding of course, that was the NCRS in me coming out. I'm okay now , I've suppressed those idiotic thoughts. Mine, like yours, will be far superior to the crap that rolled out of the factory. Nice job.

The seams and body lines do look to be right on the money. It's going to look perfect.

Did they prefit the headlamp buckets? Mine needed a little tweaking to make them allign right and look perfect (definately not to factory standards). That was done prior to primer.
