I notice most dealers list a difference between 58-59 door accessories such as window reveal stainless, inner stainless garnish and window regulator.Anyone explain why they differ?
The way that they fasten to the top of the door is the only difference. As an example, the 59-61 outer garnish uses spring clips with studs (2 each side), that hold the molding down. The earlier cars 56-58 use a couple of steel "flanges" that are screwed to the top of the door, and then the molding is screwed to the flanges. If you look at the "related" parts in the vendor catalogs, you'll see the different mounting assemblies. Dimensionally, they are the same.

The inner door release was moved in 1959. Story has it that Zora kept inadvertantly opening the door with his coat sleeve so he wanted it moved. If my memory serves the "ball" was moved down and back.
Thanks for that info that may help. The problem I have is the VIN tag says 59 and certain things indicate a 58 car.ie the trunk(we call boot over here in UK) has fixing holes but filled in which could have taken the 58 trim pieces.I'm wanting to order missing door parts and don't want to find they will not fit.So how do the window actuators differ?
Interestingly the VIN plate states:F59B107957 ?

The VIN plate should read: J59S107957 but I've seen weirder things.
If your car were much earlier (ie ~100957) I'd consider the possibility of 58 pieces on it but imo it's way too late a build for that. There are other items that distinguish a 58 from later models; I've seen 58s titled as 59s...
I'm hoping when I lift the body all will be revealed and I find the vin on the frameThe car was shipped to the UK over 20 years ago and sat untouched. It has been thoroughly butchered as the front half of the X member has been removed supposedly when a big block resided there for racing purposes, but who knows now? Thanks.
