Below is a link to my Corvette story that Mid America used in there advertising on how I got started in the Corvette hobby. Also there are a few pic of some of the Corvettes I have owned. Not all just some of them. List your story how you got hooked on Corvettes. http://www.mycorvettestory.com/terry/
I was hooked on the 56/57 starting at around 6 when I got my first die cast model. 24 years later I finally bought one It's honestly the only Corvette I really care for although I plan on owning a 53-55 someday too.

Neat story....relating it to Christmas morning for a young boy brings to mind memories of slot car sets, and models.
While I would leave the exterior and mechanicals looking like they were, I would restore it to a safe working state, and drive it as was intended originally.....fast!

Pssst , that's the story of the Mike Yager 57 barn find. Give Mike Terry's story a read too
The National Council of Corvette Clubs (NCCC) house magazine Blue Bars Fall 2010 edition has an excellent article on page 47 by Doctor Charles H. Dulaney chronicling his 57 years of Corvette ownership and entheusiastic participation in the hobby.
