That post made me think of how bad a frontal crash would have to be to rip the floor mounted seat belt anchors out of a C2 so they hang from the safety cables. Somehow I think one would have long since been impaled on the steering column (pre-67) or head smashed into the steering wheel before those anchors broke the floor glass.
We're all nuts driving these things. They're death traps. I'm the biggest nut of all. At least most of you guys don't seem to crack yours up on a regualr basis

I think some of the drivers are a far greater danger than the cars.
Well, I've never been involved in a wreck as a driver and I'm almost 60 years old. I've had a couple back bumper dinging episodes but that's it. Personally - I'm more worried about the housewife in her 5500 lb Tahoe, with 2 screaming kids in the back, and talking on a cellphone. Sends cold chills up and down my spine whenever I'm out in one of my old cars.

The floor mounted seat belts are not just attached to the glass. There is a frame tab underneath. The bolt goes through the glass and attaches to a welded nut in the frame.
Wreck a C2 badly, there are no good outcomes that don't invlove luck, kharma,God or all of the above.
