Speedometer Cable Replacement
On my '60, the speedometer cable is jumping around like crazy at low speeds. I ordered a replacement and looked under the dash to see what it takes to replace. Do you have to take the instrument cluster off to get at the speedometer connection or is there an easier way around this problem?
Looks pretty tight up there. Tach cable is visible, but the speed cable is mostly hidden...... What do you think?

I won't say it can't be done, but if I had to change one I'd loosen the bolts and slide the cluster forward a couple of inches. You have to be careful not to scratch the paint on the t/s housing. Tape some thin cardboard over it to protect it.

I can get one off pretty easily with the cluster in place. Same for tach cable. Getting it back on requires that I hold my mouth just right. :D
