I picked up my 4 post lift and Pro Lift 3500 yesterday (Direct Lift Pro Park 8S). The lift took my son and I three hours to construct. I used air tools and an engine crane. I stopped by Theisons and got a 6' lifting strap. You wouldn't believe how easy it was with the strap. We found the balance points and let the engine hoist do all the lifting. I had to move the midyear out into the drive last night till and didn't want to leave it out so we constructed the lift on the opposite side of the garage. This AM I put the casters on and moved rotated the lift 360 degrees by myself and moved it to the side it is going to stay. I pulled the 66 in and am freaking out how nice it is! Leveled it all out this AM and now have the car up in the air. I think I'll put some air in the tires without bending over.

I've been on the fence about a lift in the garage for about 4 years now. First it was the amount of room it will take up, then the ceiling height (9'9"). I measured for 4 years from time to time and finally after hearing all of you guys talking about how nice it is not to get on your backs anymore I decided to pull the trigger.

I also bought a pro jack 3500. I'll get some pics of it latter.

Why didn't you guys kick me in the head years ago?

Here are some pics.

I've got the same one in my shop except I have the *plus* version that lifts a foot higher. Also have the Pro Jack, a trans jack and an oil drain. Sure makes life good! Love it! Mine has been trouble free.

You're going to enjoy going out in the garage now!

Your life just got a whole lot easier. I wondered why I didn't do it sooner. You can lie on your back only when you go to bed now

I have had my Direct Lift for about 3 years now. It is a great buy for the money and pretty easy to set up. I like bragging about it to the guys in the neighborhood. They are like..... you have a car lift in your garage?!?! And I am like yes, I know I am spoiled, with a big sh*t eatin grin on my face.

Default Lift

Congrats on the lift. Your back will really appreciate the new addition. The castors are a great option. I made a storage board for the castors, T's and clips which allows me to hang the parts on the wall out of the way, yet easily available to use when needed. I will ask my son to post a picture. Jerry

Does anyone have a four post with 8' ceilings, or is this totally impractical. You can still get the car up about 4' or so and use a mechanics stool. Even then there is only so much you can do if you can't take the wheel off.

Default More pics please!

David, would be nice if you could please post more pics of the Direct Lift Pro Park 8S such as with two cars with the 9ft 9in available height and use of the Pro Jack 3500. Did you pick it up in Indy or have it truck shipped? Looks like a real nice lift with great features. I am sure others will appreciate your first hand experience with the purchase, installation and initial use. I have 10 ft. of available height but now believe I could increase that with alteration to just one truss.

I have 2 4 posters in one garage BUT I use a scissors lift that only raises my car up off the ground 4 foot in the other garage ...not because the second garage only has an 8 foot ceiling BUT because the only drawback to a 4 post life is to put it bluntly is that for doing "wheel" work they just are too much trouble...

Not very expensive but like a 2 post lift I have to get down on my "old" knees and place the swing arms under the frame... and I sure can not do any under the car work with that lift BUT it is worth its weight in gold when I'm doing a brake job ...

Takes up no floor space as all my cars can easily just drive over it when it is lowered ..
