I've replaced the T-10 transmission with the correct M-20 muncie. While attempting to connect the tranny output shaft yoke with the driveshaft I discovered the trunnion pin of the u-joint was too long. It measures (with bearing cap) 3 1/2 inches (approximately 1/4 inch too long). If I get another u'joint to mate with the output yoke, wouldn't the opposite trunnion pin then be too short to mate with the driveshaft? Wonder if shorter bearing caps is an option? Please advise. Thanks
Sounds like you have a C3 driveshaft; is the shaft 1-1/2" or 1-7/8" in diameter? The C3 driveshaft used U-joints (#1330) that are 3-5/8" across the caps, and midyears used #1310 U-joints that are 3-1/4" across the caps.
If you have a C3 driveshaft, you can probably use a "conversion" U-joint (1310/1330) to mate it to the trans output yoke.

Thanks John. "conversion" U-joint (1310/1330) has been ordered. Bill
