Eh, the car was probably strapped to a Dyno.

I can't understand how a 61/62 running 130 would be going down the road so smoothly as to allow a clear picture as that one.

I did a picture like that before.I had the car idling and took the picture. Then I blacked out the needles and repainted them in the 160mph and 6,500rpm.
I'd like to see what the oil pressure is.

You could probably fake it with two people with electric drills hooked up to the cables.

This picture is from a friend of mine "Chip" in his 62 327, I was not there when this picture was taken but on Sunday he took me for a ride and it's a really nice correct 62 he's in his 60's and drives it like he stole it. the tach, speedo all work correct and he hammered it to the floor going through the gears and we quickly hit 110 with me in the passenger seat, holding on tight with a pretty good corner coming up and he was very relaxed two on the wheel! thats when he told me about this picture. great guy lots of knowledge

The oil pressure gauge is not in the photo, that's the temp gauge on the left, BATT on the right.

Yeah, I contacted them a while back when you were thinking about selling your wheels.

Hmm. When I had my car on the dyno it showed 129 mph at a little over 4800 rpm. 3.08 gears and 205/75-15 tires.

A quick trip to a speed calculator shows 5700 rpm to be about 144 mph with 3.08 gears and 205/75-15s.

What size tires?

I cropped the photo and added a bit more colour but the white car just has to much glare off the screen for me to tame it down. Stewy

60's and 70's, Montana did not have a daytime speed limit. All the Lincolns and Caddies would cruise at 100. I would pull along side'em in 3rd, punch the four barrel, walk'em in 4th, easy to hit 130 in my 62 with 3:08s and 340 horse. Passing with authority; an old habit that is hard to break.

Its a solid lifter car and i`m thinking more like a 3.73 gear wound out tight to go high 120`s
