Midyear Glovebox Light Installation
Does anyone have experience in replacing the glovebox light assembly? The car I bought did not have one. I bought an after market assembly with the spring loaded switch and bulb. The wire for power is no where to be seen. How much of the glove box door and assembly do I have to remove to find the wire(if it's there)?

Re: Midyear Glovebox Light Installation (steinboy56)
Open your glove box door, under it are four philips screws, remove them carefully while holding the door because it's spring loaded and have a helper. The two support rods slip out of the rubber groumets. The fiber box is held in by 6-8 philips screws and the two holding the catch for the latch. Now you should see somewhere in the area a 20ga. orange wire. The courtesy lights at each door are orange so you want to make sure the right side one is at the light then you can find for the glove box light wire. You might check after installation that the light goes out, dead batteries are a pain. Hope this helps!

Its a heck of a lot easier to remove the whole assembly and you wont have to fool with the spring loaded door. Just remove the screws around the inside of the frame and the Four along the cross brace where the trim tag is. The whole thing will come out as a unit.
