Typically you call a locksmith or drill out the cylinder...not that complicated....

If somebody saved the punch out section of the original keys the code on there can be used to make a new key...

You call a locksmith, or fire up the drill press.

Everything seems to be complicated on a 63. If I drill it out, then I have to replace it.

Think I'll be calling a locksmith.

I've never been able to lock it since I bought it, just turn and start with no key. Life couldn't be simpler, eh?

Thanks guys.

It would have been the same problem on any '60s GM car, not just a split window vette. I'd bite the bullet and get the locksmith if you think your lock cylinder is original....be kind of a shame to destroy it.

Since you can drive it - then taking it to the locksmith might save you some bucks over a housecall

Default How to remove ignition lock cylinder on a 1966 ??

Hey guys, helping my dad out on his '66. We can't seem to figure out where we are supposed to insert the "paper clip" as there are no visible holes. There does seem to be an opening at the bottom though. Thoughts?

Thanks.

Thank you, misunderstood the old man since were speaking spanish over here. 66 sounds very similar to 76. Will move over to C3.
