Default Outer Headlight Pivot Questions

Is the one outer pivot without the tang correct?

I'm thinking the one on the bottom is the left side and the other one is the right.

I have an issue with the one with the tang. The allen head is stripped. Should I just drill it out?

I'm thinking too that when they are seated in the bucket they should be mounted flushly, correct? The upper part doesn't quite to be sitting correctly when I have it in the hole..

Okay - got the stuck collar off without using a drill.

The headlight adjuster is mounted to what you are calling the "tang". Glad you got the collar off, those things are "fused on" sometimes.

Now the other question - do the pivots mount flush to the buckets? Both sides seem to be not quite flush...

The little ridge you see near where the screws are in your top picture recesses in the cutout of the bucket, and the pivot itself sits flat on the inside surface of the bucket.

That "ridge" isn't exactly flush with the outside of the bucket when the screws are drawn down, but close. The screws are flush with the bucket when the pivot is tightened though.

Not sure if that made any sense

Just a mention - don't forget to orient the collar so that the set screw faces towards the rear when the headlight bucket is closed. Makes for easy allen wrench access to the set screw in case you need to fine tune the collar to better fix the bucket side-to-side position inside the headlight well.
