Default Sun Visor falling down gradually.

Does anyone know how to keep the driver's side visor from easing down

when driving. I have new visors and hardware, but the darn thing on

the driver's side won't tighten down any further!!

Cheers, Zale

On mine I ground a couple of flat spots at the angle I wanted the visors to stay at. The problem with that is it only has 2 positions it wants to stay at. If I put them at a different angle, it eventually slips back to the flat spots. The good thing is I rarley use them anyway and they now stay up where I put them.

There is a pin that slides into a metal sleeve inside the top part of the visor. I took the visor down (two screws, one at either end) so I could work on it. Then I took a pair of flat pliers (that is to say, not much teeth on the inside), wrapped the pliers with a few rounds of tape, and crushed the sleeve a little bit (doesn't take much).

That seems to have fixed it.

There is a torque and process for adjusting the tension of the "sunshade" in the assembly manual. For a '67, it's UPC 1, sheet E5.

Default another solution

put a layer of shrink sleeving on the pivot pin.
