I am interested in everybody's thoughts on this....
A buddy of mine has an extremely impressive array of cars. He has a yellow 360 Ferrari convert, an Eleanor Mustang, 69 Indy 500 convert Pace Car Camaro, and an 88 35th anniversary Vette.
He is now targeting a C2 and the 2 he is considering is either a 63 SWC or a big block 67 Coupe. With money not being an object, what would you go with? The 63 is so iconic and the 67 BB is the quintissential muscle car in my opinion.
Both the 67 and the 63 are excellent collector cars. Both have their very special models. The 63 having the Z06 and the 67 having the L88, L89, and tri-power variants. The 67 would likely be the better quality vehicle (although it probably doesn't mean much given that most vehicles have been lovingly restored). The 67 would be the better driving car given the upgrades over the series. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as to whether the rear split or the stinger hood makes for a better looking car. 67s would likely be more expensive overall. 63s have many more one year only parts that make restoring (or replacing parts) the car a challenge.
On this choice, it's all about what the owner wants from the vehicle. Which one turns him on more? That's the one to get. For me it was a 67BB - but note too that any 63-67 Sting Ray is a special car and that I wouldn't necessarily limit myself to just those two years.
1963........at least then when everyone guesses your car is a 63, they would all be right!
Seriously, nothing distinguishes a Corvette like a split window does. Not putting anyone's car down as they are both great cars, but from your buddies list, I would think a 63 is what he is looking for.
I would go for the 63 SWC, There are to many fake BB 67 Corvettes out there. I would not spend that kind of money for one and not be sure you got the real deal.

If he doesn't already have a clear idea of what he wants, then he probably doesn't really want a C2.
