I had the column out on the bench...I was trying to get that 'bezel' off. I did. I pulled each wire out of the plastic plug..[and replaced] Anybody want to buy a good 66 column? Tilt is now in the building!

Default turn signal shaft

Hi all
I've read a few threads here and if someone can tell me what I have to do before I just tear into pulling the steering wheel..
I push down on the left hand turn signal shaft and the light on the dash was not blinking but I could here the flasher ticking so I pushed a little harder and what ever the shaft
is connected to broke in the inside.. I didn't push that hard.
I am sure someone can tell me how much work this is going to be and what I don't have to disconnect and what parts I should buy.
This is on a 1966 corvette coupe, no power steering, no PB or Air, 327/350
Thanks in advance for any help I receive.

You'll get a much better response if you start a new thread with your question. Most people will blow over this one because it is so old. I don't use the search engine on the forum. I just use google and it leads me back to the forum thread I'm looking for. First, make sure that the turn signal switch is the problem. You'll get your answer when you start a new thread. You do not (and should not) have to remove the column to gain access to turn signal switch. The most difficult part is about the process is making the electrical connection. These will get you started:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...tch-c-2-a.html

Again, make sure that the turn signal switch is the source of the problem. The after market switches have been known to be problematic.
Good luck with your project.
