If it's that nice looking L68 on ebay for 60k, it has bias tires.

I was more inclined to beat on mine before I restored it. With the 8 inch wheels, H60 radials and an extra leaf in the rear spring, I could dump the clutch at about 2000, spin tires halfway through first to where they would hook up just as the engine would come on the cam and then hang on. Now, with stock rear spring and 205 radials I'm hesitant (scared I guess) to jump on it in first. Too likely to blow the tires. So now I usually wind first out slowly, shift into second and then open it up. Maybe I'm just getting old.

My vote for Harps as the man of the day.

My question, how many of you "get on it" or do u really need to baby these older vehicles? I love the midyears but want a vehicle I can treat like a sports car--does that men I Need a new vette instead?
I drove 20,000 miles in 89 days this summer, with 3.70 rear as fast and hard as I could across America this summer. Original engine and drive train with 300,000 miles on it.

These cars love to be driven. Lack of use causes more problems then more use

Jack

Prepare it and check it out and drive the hell out of it,

I usually do three track days a year in mine. I love to **** off the high dollar new cars with my 48 year old plastic car!!!
One more Porsche passed by turn one. My car has good power, handles predictably, and stops great. Just as good on the road.

My goodness!!! How did that little ole Cohvette ever survive that abuse??
Seriously that's what they're for. Drive/enjoy as you please.
Can't wait to do that with my new/old 65 L79 once we get some decent weather.
Party on Wayne. Party on Garth.

Man of the Day! Hell since he got his car done he is man of the year! P.S. Town officials are still looking for the driver of that car.
