Default Tripmeter cable question

I installed a rebuilt speedometer in my 63 SWC today. The odometer and trip meter now work. There is a little cable that sets the trip meter that works but I have no idea where it was when the car was new. Right now the little cable just hangs and I have it tucked up behind the dash but I figure I must be missing a bracket or something that it used to attach to. Can somebody tell me or send a picture of what I should have, and if it is a one year only part. Thanks again.

There is a large bracket under the cluster that has 3 nuts under it that holds the steering column up. The odometer cable attaches to a small bracket that's attached to the large bracket at the right(inboard)nut, and the cable hangs down to the right of the column between that large bracket, and the bottom edge of the cluster. Sorry, I don't have a picture.......if you go to Long Island Corvettes website, and do a search for part3 18-67B, there's a good picture of the large steering column bracket, with the smaller odometer bracket attached to it.

It mounts under the steering column, a little to the right. It mounts pointing down.

Thanks again you guys. The Long Island Corvette catalog was great with its diagrams etc. The stock bracket was still in the car and now the cable is where it should be. This is a great forum for finding the answers to anything pertaining to these vettes.
