After removing and replacing the steering mast, the upper bearing has come unseated while I was driving. The steering wheel nut is tight and well torqued. Doew anyone know why the upper bearing would come unseated?
Could also be the lower bearing spring clamp has loosened and allowed the shaft to move in and out. I would pull the whole shaft and mast jacket from the car. Inspect and re-install per AIM manual specs and make sure you have all the proper 63 parts installed.
If you don't have an AIM (Assembly instruction manual) or the Corvette Shop Manual? I highly recommend them. Look at the Forum sitcky on must have books.
