New to the Forum...getting started...wanting to share photo of the SWC I bought last year...wish you could see the 'patina' of the original paint in person...this photo makes the car look like it has been repainted, but I bought it because of the original paint...difficult to find 'excellent/original/unrestored' in a car like this

Hi Dave,
I have no idea how many remain or are registered but I have kinda kept track for over 15 yrs.
Including some 63's that were recorded prior to me and some cars recorded by others, and also including some that were wrecked or stolen etc. over the yrs, I've listed over 3,100 cars in my '63 file.
Of the approximate 3,100 '63 total, 1770 are split windows.
I'd guess that a good number survive, at the very least double that figure and most probably quite a bit higher.
I would love to hear from '63 owners who would contribute to this file.
Syd

I thought it was crazy that this one was so nice, yet had never been painted...that's why I bought it...its probably the only car I would have done something so drastic as to tap my 401k...I know values are difficult to determine, but I sure would like to know a range on this one...that way I could properly insure it.

Sure glad to. I bought it off of craigslist in Denver in 2010. It needed a lot of work, not orig engine. I put a 383 stroker & tremac 5 speed, new interior/seats, wiring, windshield, Foose wheels.. Its tuxedo black and I'm almost done, needs a new softtop when I get around to it... Love those midyears but all Vettes. David

Hi Series1,
I had no info in my file for your '63 #17,485.
You say that this is your new SWC? The serial tag shows that it is supposed to be a Convertible. Could you please tell more about your car and also show the trim tag as well.
Thanks!
Syd

I had your Saddle Coupe listed in my file exactly as you described. It was recorded in the late 70's in the L. Brooks '63 registry.
I was missing it's Body number and have now added it in.
Thanks again!

One in my avatar on the car lift, 63 roadster originally black with saddle interior fuel injected 370 gears radio, hardtop and soft top from CA. Rumor has it that it was owned by Mickey Thompson and confirmed a few months ago by the recent owner who is a friend of mine.

Syd,
I acquired #14,396 in May 2015. The car appears to have been originally a fuelie, but converted to a 340hp at some point in its life. Owner did not have much history prior to 2012, but the car possess all the following:
3782870 block casting
Engine pad stamp: 3114396 F0425RF (unmistakable RF stamping)
'63 fi style radiator core support with air inlet
3 bolt holes on drivers inner fender panel
6500 rpm tach
60 PSI oil pressure gauge
4spd w/ Power Brakes
Silver Blue / Dark Blue Int / White Top
VIN: 30867S114396
Trim Tag:
I 1
STYLE 63 867 6872 BODY
TRIM 490K 912A PAINT
I'm now on the look-out for FI unit, exhaust manifolds, and proper master cylinder.

I didn't have your friends car listed. Thanks for the info!
Is it a 3 or a 4spd and what color is his soft top? Does it have power brakes or windows or any other options? I see that it is now White. Is the interior still the original Saddle?
You and Randy might find it interesting that I have the next convertible built after his '63 #6,392 recorded.
I have #6,395 listed as a White/Red NOM 4spd Roadster with both tops, Body #2,950. Whats interesting is that it was now Black/Saddle when recorded.
Thanks again!
