I'm putting my underdash ac stuff together and I don't see any gaskets between the components in the AIM.
What do you all do? Silicone? Cut custom gaskets? Nothing?
If nothing, does the system whistle or make noise from any gaps?
Thanks
Jim
I just did this to my A/C box this past winter. Dr Rebuild has a great rebuild kit with extra gaskets/seals. As for places where there is not a seal, I just used a lot of silicone to seal up any gaps.
The lower ducts on the passenger side have a foam gasket that fits under the bracket the holds the 2 horizontal pieces together. The foam is rectangular and fits like a sleeve over the gap between the 2 pieces.
The driver's side has only one lower piece. It is connected to the center stack with a flexible hose. There is no gasket.
If you go to Dr. Rebuild's web site he has an excellent diagram showing the location of every seal and gasket in the entire system.
