Default Chassis Lube problem

Thought I was completely through with the chassis and am getting close to going to pick up the Coupe body to put back on the frame. Everything is detailed, so I thought I might as well go ahead and grease all the ball joints, tie rod ends, etc. WELL I screwed up evidently when I installed the upper ball joint- the rubber boot wasn't seated properly, and grease goes to running out the side on about the second stroke of the gun. Also, I bought correct shaped tie rod ends for the car, but one of them won't take grease! Tried a different zerk, took it off and sprayed everywhere in it with carb cleaner, thinking some grease had somehow set up inside, but it is just extremely tight- won't hardly move on the stud, especially when you try to force grease in the zerk. Called Corvette Central, and even tho I've had the part for awhile, they said to just send it back and they would replace it. The upper ball joint is easily (kinda) fixable- just have to separate the spindle from the upper ball joint and reposition the rubber under the tin shield that goes around the top. I guess the lesson learned is to not take anything for granted, and go ahead and get the chassis ready for the road before doing the body drop. It is a whole lot easier to fix problems now than later.
