Default 55 early 56 wiper motor trivia

Just to let some that may not know that you can use a truck wiper motor if your's is Bad . The Corvette wiper motor can run up to $400.00 or even more because they are rare . But if you see a early first design 55 truck motor you may pay $200.00 or less.
First remove the backing plate of the truck motor and replace it with your Corvette motor plate or ( any C1), then remove the front plate using your correct numbers plate. Now you have a good running Corvette wiper motor . I've even found NOS truck motors for less then $200.00 and my 55 uses it.
Hope this may help somone

I don't know about a truck wiper switch or what they look like. Pic shows a correct WS. You never see one for sale that's correct like this one. For 55 to 57 . The ones for sale all have a vacuum brass line (wrong) 55 to 57 dint use vacuum.
But I guess it don't matter because NCRS don't judge it , but if they ever do the price of one will be big bucks ! when ever I find one I buy it.

roy, if you were to go with the view you have in the picture, the switches on the 54-57 chevy trucks would look identical. that is the reason i asked about the ****! if you look through the ebay listing of 54-57 chevy truck wiper motors you will see some assemblies with the switch included. also pronesti is reproducing this switch.

pronesti classics , phone #407-464-1959, cell #352-638-5778. deals in 55 thru 57 chevy parts and is always interested in getting his products correct. the last item i purchased from him was a 55 coil and when i mentioned to him i thought the finish was too bright he had it cad plated for me. he also comes across a lot of 55-57 nos parts so it is good to check with him for original parts. besides 55-57 parts i can remember purchasing some nice 091 coils so he does have parts for other years. as for the length of the truck switches, i am contacting the sellers and getting a measurement of the thin cylindrical part that the cable attaches to. the chevy parts book seems to use the same switch for corvette and trucks, so i will contact joe lucia to see if he can locate the original part numbers.
