When I bought my car I wanted a coupe. There is nothing like the lines of a coupe,as someone else said. That being said I do have a convertible, non vette, to drive. Everyone should own at least one convertible before going on to own any coupe.
That certainly sounds better. I was going by what was said on the TV this A.M. I spent several months all over Florida when my ex was doing T.V. promotions. Not my cup of tea but heck, somebody has to live there.
Gee I wonder why? Maybe because you live in Florida? Today it is supposed to be 90 degrees with 100% humidity there. You can have it. Even a convertible wouldn't make that tolerable.
We've got a '64 Coupe (w/AC) and a '01 Coupe. I agree with others that the lines on the C2 coupes are timeless. When we want the the open air, the roof panel comes off of the '01.
Nothing beats a Coupe for driving toasty on those cold fall and winter days, nothing beats a Vert for driving on those warm Spring and Summer days. That's why you need one of each! Problem solved. Pilot Dan

Warm yes, but there's nothing worse than sitting in traffic on a HOT day with the top down. I have 2 verts. and 1 coupe and very few HOT days.

"Hot day" I guess is a matter of geography. That being said, if the sun is intense, I don't hesitate to put the top up. I'm the guy with 50 sunscreen under the umbrella at the beach. Night driving with the top down in the summer is my favorite in the Northeast.
I have a SWC with AC and all the goodies you can do to a modified car except the body is still stock. It has always been my favorite corvette. I got a motorcycle with a 425 HP SB in it for when its warm or a nice summer night, life is good.
I really didn't have a choice. When I asked my wife her opinion on buying an old Corvette......much to my surprise, she said OK.....BUT, she said it must be a convertible.......chicks dig ragtops.
Mine says the same thing plus it must be a 4-speed. She also likes the ones with the "neat-looking scoop and stripe on the hood" .
COUPES ARE FOR CHICKENS!!! : : Seriously, I would love to have a coupe to keep my convertible company. I know the coupes do not have cowl shake like the convertibles. All those timeless sweeping lines...the coupes just got more of 'em. The one thing I enjoy doing when fall comes is install the hardtop. Just give the convertible a more formal look.

Anybody with a vert wish they had a coupe or vice versa?

No, but people with convertibles would wish other people would stop saying "vert."
Well we could call them "converts" or "ble" thats nice and short. I have always like roadster. "Drop head" is cool. Drop top maybe? In the end, who cares!

I've had a 60rag, a 61rag, another 61rag, a 62rag, a 66rag, WTF is so difficult in typing r-a-g, one letter less than the french word for green, vert!
DT for drop top, or T for topless, anything else. Only girls and gays say vert!
