im pulling the body off of my 66 corvette, the gas tank in out and everything else is out,my rear panel was molded on 30 years ago and i dont want to cut into,i want to leave it molded on,but now i cant pull the body straight up because the frame will hit the rear molded on panel, and i cant slide it back because the front of the rear wheel well will hit the frame were it comes up....so my question is....has anybody ever lifted the body high in the front so it clears the frame were it comes up and slide the frame out?????
that rear body panel below rear bumper has to come off to remove the the frame from the body. my rear panel was glassed in as so many were. i used a cutoff wheel in a die grinder to cut the glass off under the bumber.

Unfortunately, I think you are going to have to cut it at the seams. I have a custom (non-original) frame on my project that we modified to handle the glassed in exhaust panel. If you are keeping the original frame and want to pull the body, you probably don't want to molest/modify the frame. My shop tried a few different techniques to pull the body off with the glassed in panel to no avail. Sorry! Rob

I would think you could pull the front way up first? Especially if you already have the tank out. I found it easier to drop the body on with as *** down attitude anyway, even with the tank in, and even though my rear is not glassed in. My frame is custom, but the issues in the rear with the tank keeping you from going back is the same, but what is to keep the front from going way up first??
When I lifted mine off, it was similar to the pic above in that it was rear down at first. Make sure you remove the rear bumper supports between the frame and the body.
