I replaced all of my caliper's, and hoses with the oring type about 1.5 years ago. Then about 6 months ago, my 67 style master cylinder started leaking so I replaced it with the new reproduction 65 power brake master cylinder from CSSB, and I also replaced the booster. I have not noticed any problems until the other day. I tried to push my car 3 feet forward, and I couldn't move it. My neighbor saw me struggling, and came over to give me a hand. We both could not roll the car forward. I started it up and drove it in the garage and jacked the car up. The front wheels were somewhat difficult to spin, and certainly wouldn't free spin. The back wheels were, as expected, even a little harder to spin. It's pretty clear that all 4 calipers are dragging, more than they should.. Has anybody that has o-ring seals, notice having this problem? Could someone that has o-ring calipers try pushing their car forward a foot or two? If the piston in M/C isn't retracting all the way, would't that cause this problem also? Anybody have any ideas?
I have O Ring calipers and they have worked flawlessly for four years. No problem pushing the car and the wheels spin pretty easily. Is your peddle adjustment have the right play in it to let the booster, and ergo the master cylinder come all the way back?
Thank's for the reply Geek.....yes, I measured the pedal, and it sits the correct distance off the floor, plus it seems to have enough free play, but tomorrow, I.m going to get under the dash and make sure that the booster rod is coming up all the way.
I have that prblem as we speak, I found the drivers rear wheel would not spin when i had it on the rack. had just finished changing out the M/C due to a soft pedal (pitting in the cylinder) I noticed i could not bleed the caliper. I took it off and found rust and it started pushing fluid thru it again. I ordered a rebuilt kit today from auto zone 10.00. Hope to get it in this week.
My advice would be to see if you have any fluid flowing thru your calipers, i bet you wont. It sounds like you have some calipers stoped up
Good Luck \George

I've got a Motive power bleeder, and after I check the booster rod, I'm going to bleed the brakes. Whatever it is, it's seems to be affecting all 4 calipers equally.
Drive the car around the block and see if your problem goes away. If it doesn't then I'd look a little further for a problem.
I don't think O ring pistons will retract like the cup style pistons. With a fixed caliper like the Corvette has, there will be a slight drag on the rotor until you get a pad knockback due to rotor runout or wheel bearing clearance.
Mike I just took the car for a 15 minute drive , and the problem is still there. I'm going to investigate under the dash and check the pedal, and booster rod adjustments.I've got at least 1000 miles on these pads.
