My understanding was the special built Grand Sports had a 377 cubic inch engine with webber carbs. Was the 377 a bored out 327? And after 1965 were big block engines used mostly in auto cross racing or were small block Corvettes still the better engine to race with?

Grand Sport engines were based on aluminum blocks with 4.000" bore and cranks with 3.75" stroke. Apparently about a dozen such blocks were cast. Heads were, of course, aluminum also.
