Default 60 speedometer plastic gear

Has anyone bought a long shaft, red 21 tooth for a 60 that worked.

I need to speed up the reading on the speedometer by about 5MPH. Checked it against a GPS.

I took out the green 22 tooth gear and replaced it with a red 21 tooth gear from Keene Parts (210084) but it doesn't work. Tried it 4 or 5 times and it does not engage, reinstalled the green gear and it works. Have a new cable and the green works with it. I can hear the red gear grinding.

The shaft is 2 5/16" long.

What is your rear ratio? Do you have the large or small drive gear in the transmission?

The red driven gear might be too small to work with the drive gear that is in your transmission. A combo of small drive and small driven gears will result in the 2 not meshing.

There are 2 red 21-tooth gears listed in the '72 parts book: 3860344 and 3987921.

3860344 shows usage through 1970.

The 3987921 is listed for '71 and '72. The '71 and '72 have a different gear in the transmission.

Maybe you have a 3987921.

3.36 rear and I have no clue as to what gear is in the T10.
