Have 1961 w/283 and factory Dual Quads (Carter 2613S & 2614s). The car runs fine until it starts to get a little hotter (180 on temp guage). Then it doesn't want to idle. It will still accelerate and drive good. I always seem to smell gas, especially on turns. Also, there is gas leakage from the top flange on front carb occasionally. The rear drips gas from the accelerator nozzles after the car has has been turned off. I have owned the car for 8 months and the previous owner had the carbs rebuilt for gas leakage in March 2010. Has anyone experienced problems of this nature? Wouldn't think they would need to be rebuilt again. Float adjustment? Thanks

float adjustment is a good place to start, also make sure the needle valve is seating good,,, there lots of info on teh forum, about this, try the search tab,,,
hope this helps
"Rebuilt" can mean anything...somebody may have thrown in one of those "white box" Chinese kits with a few parts and called it a rebuild.
You need to take any gas leaks on these carbs VERY seriously...I spent a frightening few moments in my garage extinguishing a carb gas leak fire a few years back on the '61.
It never hurts to occasionally snug down the 1/2" mounting bolts for these carbs and remove the air cleaner and air cleaner gaskets and gently tighten down the straight slotted carb screws holding down the air horn. You may want to change your fuel filter and run some carb cleaner through the gas tank. If that's no help you need to go into the carbs -- they should NOT be dribbling fuel when the engine is off.
Check your fuel pump pressure...excessive pressure can force the needle valves off their seats and there is some pressure even after the car is shut off...anything over 7.5 is pushing it.
If you top off your tank and make sharp right turns (especially downhill) you WILL get a strong gas smell as the gas runs up the vent tube under the gas filler flap and dumps out...just "one of those things" with these cars. Make sure you have a tight-fitting, NON-vented gas cap....a NAPA #703-1205 works beautifully.
I will email you the manual for these carbs if you provide an address and feel up to tackling the internals yourself -- its too big to post on the forum.
