64 headlight up and down problems.

64 headlight up and down problems.
1) They are not going up or down evenly.
2) Sometimes one of them stops part way, but then it gets going again.
3) Operation, is very slow at best.
4) Sometimes in the full closed position, they will rock back and forth, with just my hand, about an 1" or so, with no resistance.
Is it time for a rebuild of motors or something ?
Is there a sticky on this, or some step by step, for dummies to remove and replace.
Not sure how to get at them to get them out, or where to begin.
I have the AIM, but does not really show how just where.
Does someone have some pages to share, thanks.
