mirror - guide y-50 outside with mount kit - right
Description 1953-1962
Right hand Y-50 mirrors were not factory installed, even though there are GM promotional photos of cars with right hand mirrors.

FWIW, my personal preference for a C1 mirror on the driver's side is the C2 mirror as the pivot point is off-center and the mirror is easier to see past the door post.

The mirror is made for the right side. It is a Guide Y-50 and it is not a repo. GM made them and sold them as accessories. But they were standard equipment on Cadillacs as well. 1953 I believe. Possibly other years too.

I got to say...I do miss the passenger mirror allot! Never thought of adding one because I figured it would be sacrilegious!
I'm second guessing it now because of safety reasons. There's allot more traffic on the road today then there was in the 60's.
How dose everyone feel about adding one to a restored car?

As far as the loose mirror...add a little locktight to the screw.

Here is the dealer accessory right hand mirror just for all C1's of the same material and dark glass as the driver side but it don't say guide Y50 that I have on my 55 Corvette.
